Security
A school system holds children's records, family contact details and financial information. This page says what we actually do about that, in terms you can check.
We do not hold security certifications, and we do not publish uptime guarantees. If a vendor offers you either, ask to see the certificate and the measurement behind it.
Access follows the role you assign
You create roles and decide which areas each one may open. A class teacher sees their own classes; the accounts office sees fees. Parents and students see only their own information.
Connections are encrypted
EDUTIG is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the application is encrypted in transit.
Your data is backed up
School data is backed up as part of running the service. Ask us about the current backup and restore arrangements for your deployment, and we will tell you what they are rather than describe them in general terms.
Actions are logged
EDUTIG keeps an audit log of recorded actions in your school account, which administrators can review.
Passwords are yours alone
Each person has their own login. Sharing one administrator account between staff removes the point of roles and makes the audit log meaningless, so we will always push back on it.
Reporting a security concern
If you believe you have found a vulnerability in EDUTIG, please tell us at info@edutig.com with the subject “Security report”. Include enough detail for us to reproduce it. We will confirm we received your report and keep you informed.
Please do not access, change or download other people's data while testing, and do not run tests that would disrupt a school's working day.
